Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman on Sunday pledged to build a crime-free, smart society with the help of policemen and journalists.
“The journalists are also working with the police to build a crime-free society. Police will work through law while journalists will work using pens as weapons,” he said while speaking at the annual prize-giving programme of the Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (Crab) in the city.
He also expressed his hope that it is possible to reach the desired destination if the police and journalists work together.
Referring to the January 7 election, the DMP boss claimed that a peaceful election was held.
“We are now progressing to a smart Bangladesh from a digital Bangladesh, and police and journalists will work together to build a crime-free Bangladesh in 2041 under the leadership of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina led government,” he said.
