Dayemi Foundation, a charitable organisation in Bangladesh, in association with a UK-based donor, has distributed food items among 300 families in Nabinagar Upazila under Brahmanbaria district as support for the holy Ramadan at a programme on the premises of Sufiabad Shah Sufi Syed Azmat Ullah (RA) Fazil Madrasah recently.
Each family was provided with 43 kgs of Sahri and Iftar items, which included 20 kgs of rice, three liters of soybean oil, five kgs of pulses, three kgs of gram, two kgs of muri, semolina, sugar and salt each, one kg of flattened rice and dates each, spices, drinks and hygiene items, says a press release.
The beneficiaries included orphans, disabled, widows and distressed persons.
Several beneficiaries said that the assistance would enable them to spend the holy Ramadan without worries for food.
