Country's second largest Novo Theatre awaits inauguration in Rajshahi

Newly-constructed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre, the country's second largest one, is awaiting inauguration in Rajshahi.
Public Works Department (PWD) has completed the work of the project with modern technology in July.
The officials concerned are expecting that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the Novo theater. If she gives the schedule, the theater will be inaugurated this month or October.
According to the Directorate of Public Works, the construction work of 'Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novotheatre' started in 2018 in front of the Shahid AHM Kamaruzzaman Central Park and Zoo in Rajshahi under the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Technology. The project was completed at a cost of Tk 2.32 billion in July this year.
While visiting the theater, this correspondent found that it has five-G hall with planetarium and modern telescope. On the third floor, a dome is placed at the north-east corner. As soon as the software is clicked, the white screen above the head will begin to light up from around the dome. A total of 5 projectors will be turned on together to start the Big Bang Show, the mystery of the creation of the world.
Besides, the Novo theater has modern decoration with lighting on every floor, beautiful water fountain in front of the building. Installation of central AC throughout the building and the ticketing system are fully automated and digital. More than 140 CC cameras have been installed to ensure security with modern fire protection and detection systems. At least 100 car parking facilities are available for the visitors.
Recently, it can be seen in the experimental exhibition, from the mystery of the creation of the universe to the creation of the earth, the sun, the moon, the planets, the stars are all floating on one screen. Dolby Digital Sound System is installed throughout the hall for perfect sound which will take the show directly into space very close to the planet-star. Together, 150 people can sit and learn about the details of the planets and stars of the infinite space. It is possible to run at least 6 to 7 shows a day, said the authorities concerned.
Harun Or Rashid, Executive Engineer of Rajshahi Public Works-1, said it cost only Tk 1.40 billion to construct the project. The rest of the money was spent on parts of the Novotheater and other sectors. Apart from just the planetarium, there is a huge space here. Apart from any science exhibition, various educational events can be held here.
