A Dhaka court has issued an arrest warrant against a man in a case filed over the death of a cat in the capital.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiaque passed the order Sunday after taking cognisance of the charges brought against Akbar Hossain Shiblu, who faced an arrest warrant for his involvement in killing a cat on Feb. 1.
On Feb. 5, Nafisa Naurin, on behalf of the People for Animal Welfare Foundation in Bangladesh, lodged the case, reports Xinhua.
In the case statement, Nafisa said that the cat went missing on Feb. 1.
Subsequently, the CCTV footage showed Shiblu kicking the cat to death.
