Bangladesh recorded two virus related deaths in the 24 hours to Wednesday morning - one from COVID-19 and one from dengue.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said a woman aged between 71 and 80 from Sylhet Division died of COVID-19, taking this year's coronavirus death toll to 23.
Over the same period, 27 new COVID-19 cases were detected from 518 tests, putting the day's positivity rate at 5.21 per cent. With Wednesday's figures, Bangladesh has logged 609 confirmed cases so far in 2025.
Meanwhile, dengue claimed another life and sent 416 more patients to hospitals nationwide. The day's lone fatality raised this year's dengue death toll to 44, while total infections since January climbed to 11,098.
