Joint force pre-empts attempted robbery in Dhaka's Darussalam; 4 held

Joint forces arrested four individuals early Friday in the Darussalam area of the city while they were allegedly preparing to commit a robbery.

The arrestees are Md Sajjad Hossain, 28, Md Sabuj Mia, 20, Md Kauchar, 26 and Md Osman Gani, 25.

Acting on a tip-off about a group of robbers planning a heist around 3:30am, a joint force team conducted a raid near the Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard and apprehended the suspects.

Law enforcement officials seized eight knives, five sharp weapons, and four machetes from their possession. A case has been filed at the Darussalam police station, according to a UNB report.

During initial interrogation, the arrested individuals confessed they were gathering to commit robberies in the surrounding areas, including the City Colony near the Graveyard.

The suspects have been sent to the court, and investigations are ongoing to nab additional fugitives involved in the incident.
