A case was filed against five policemen, including the officer-in-charge of Government Railway Police (GRP), on Friday evening in Khulna for allegedly gang-raping a woman in custody eight days ago.

The victim filed the case at GRP Police Station against OC Osman Gani Pathan and four others, said Kushtia Railway Circle’s Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Firoz Ahmed.

Five railway policemen allegedly raped a woman on the evening of August 2 and produced her before a court the next day showing her arrested with five bottles of contraband phensedyl.

The court ordered a medical test after the victim raised allegation of rape.

OC Osman and Sub-Inspector Nazmul Haque were attached to the GRP Lines on Wednesday.

On August 5, a three-member committee was formed to look into the incident. The committee, led by Firoz, was asked to submit its report within seven working days, reports UNB.
