Dengue claims two lives in 24 hrs

Dengue claimed two more lives in the 24 hours until 8:00 am on Monday, while 330 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country during the period. With the new figures, total death from the mosquito-borne disease reached 58, and total cases reached 15,210.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the figures in its daily bulletin. According to it, two deaths were reported in Chattogram and Dhaka - the males were aged 65 and 54 respectively.

Barishal Division reported the highest number of new hospitalisations with 86 patients, followed by Chattogram with 54, and Dhaka Division with 48. In Dhaka North City, 27 patients were admitted, while 44 were hospitalised in Dhaka South City. Additionally, 38 new patients were reported in Rajshahi Division, 27 in Khulna, and three each in Mymensingh and Rangpur divisions.

A total of 385 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, eight new Covid-19 patients were detected during the reporting period.
