Deputy Governor Khurshid denies restricted access for journalists at central bank, says they can seek info 100 times if needed

Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Khurshid Alam has refuted claims that journalists have restricted access to the central bank.

“It is being said that journalists have restricted access to Bangladesh Bank. Who said it? We have appointed three spokespersons to the central bank. You [journalists] need information; you [journalists] can go to the central bank 100 times if necessary. One institution has one spokesperson, but we have three. If they cannot satisfy you [journalists], there are four deputy governors, including myself, to answer your [journalists] questions," Mr Alam said while speaking as the chief guest at a ceremony at the Panchagarh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Convention on Saturday noon.

The event was organised by Bangladesh Bank’s Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department in collaboration with Bank Asia Plc on the occasion of Customer Awareness Week in the Rangpur Division.
