Detectives nab three busting fraud gang in capital

The Detective Brach (DB) of police arrested three alleged members of a fraud gang on charge of swindling money out of high government officials and renowned persons in society impersonating top terrorists.

They used to extort the money by issuing threats to the victims over phone.

The arrestees were Md Abdul Mannan Dulal alias Jahangir (55), Md Nasim Hasan Lablu (44) and Ilias Sikder alias Belayet (54).

Dhaka Metropolitan Police ( DMP) Deputy Police Commissioner ( Media and Public Relations) Mohammad Talebur Rahman said that the DB police of DMP arrested the trio by carrying out continuous raids at Mirpur and Pallabi in the capital and Gachha in Gazipur.

He said that the arrestees were engaged in realising money through bkash and nagad financial apps from high government officials and distinguished persons in society identifying themselves as members of top terrorist Sahadat Group.

Mr Talebur added based on secret information a team of DB police of Motijheel division nabbed Md Abdul Mannan Dulal alias Jahangir (55) during a raid at central Paikpara, Mirpur area in the city on July 01.

Later based on information given by Abdul Mannan, DB police arrested Md Nasim Hasan Lablu (44) from Pallabi of Mirpur and Ilias Sikder alias Belayet (54) from Gazipur.

Two laptops, one tab, 52 mobile phone sets, 190 Subscriber Identity Module ( SIM) cards, seals of different high government and private sector officials, fake identity cards and Tk20,000 cash were also recovered from their possessions.
