The Dhaka Hajj Office completed all preparations to support pilgrims in their Hajj journey as the maiden Hajj flight will take off on Tuesday, April 29, an official said.
The maiden Hajj flight by Biman Bangladesh Airlines will leave Dhaka for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) at 3:00 am.
Religious affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain will inaugurate Hajj flight- 2025 at 6:45 pm on Monday at Dhaka Hajj office at Ashkona in the city.
Civil Aviation and Tourism adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin and representatives from government agencies and Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) are expected to be present at the event.
Visiting Dhaka Hajj Office at Ashkona in the capital on Sunday, the FE correspondent found Hajj pilgrims, who are scheduled to leave the country to the KSA on Tuesday, started arriving at Dhaka Hajj Office.
The national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Saudia Airlines and Flynas will carry Hajj pilgrims from Bangladesh to the KSA.
Talking to the FE, Dhaka Hajj Office Director Md Lokman Hossain said that they had taken all preparations to ensure a smooth and hassle free Hajj for the local pilgrims.
He said that this year the total Hajj quota for Bangladesh is 87,100.
He also said that a total of 78,968 people have registered this year for performing Hajj under private management.
Mr Lokman Hossain said that a dedicated mobile app will facilitate hassle-free services for the hajj pilgrims, according to a high official of the ministry of religious affairs.
The app will offer support before, during and even after the hajj journey.
The app will also provide real-time instructions in Bangla and guide pilgrims on daily rituals, travel routes and historical backgrounds of sacred sites, he also said.
It will also help remind pilgrims of relevant prayers for each day, he furthered.
Any question could be addressed through the app's hotline and suggestions can be submitted via a feedback portal, he added.
