Dhaka slips on global liveability index

Dhaka has dropped two places to 168th in the Economist Intelligence Unit's Global Liveability Index 2024 report. Last year, the city was ranked 166th.

This index assesses the liveability of 173 cities based on stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.

With Dhaka ranked 168th, it is the sixth least liveable city.

Dhaka ranks just above Karachi, which is 169th.

Vienna tops the index for its excellent infrastructure, culture, education, and healthcare, while Damascus ranks as the least liveable city.
