Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury said mandatory digital application for land mutation will start on March 17.

"We are committed to fully digitalise the process of applying for land mutation. No manual application for the land mutation will be accepted from March 17, 2020," he said during divisional commissioners' coordination meeting at the conference room of the ministry on Sunday.

He added that solar power system will be installed to provide electricity to land offices where power is inadequate to facilitate online application activities.

He directed the divisional commissioners to investigate whether it is possible to provide the mutation service to the people who need this urgently in exchange for a special fee.

A high official of the ministry told the FE that before the meeting the minister transferred 55 double cabin pickups to the assistant commissioners (Land) of revenue circle offices.

The land minister mentioned that the newly transferred cabin pickups will increase the inspection capacity of the land officials and facilitate sudden visit to the land offices.

He said that the vehicles could bring a qualitative change at the field level by fulfilling government duties.

Land Secretary Md Muksodur Rahman Patwary was present at the meeting.
