DMP files 6024 cases Monday for violating traffic rules

A total of 6024 cases were filed against different modes of vehicles for violating traffic rules in Dhaka on Monday.

Besides, Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) also realised Tk 2.0 million in fines from traffic offenders on that day, DMP said in a statement on Tuesday. 

The traffic police dumped 29 vehicles and wrecked 504 others.

Apart from this, 725 were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 91 for using hydraulic horns, one for using hooters and beacon lights, and four others for using tinted glasses.

As for traffic violations by motorcycles, the traffic division filed 1437 cases and seized 63 motorcycles.

A total of nine motorcyclists faced cases for using mobile phones while driving. In the day long regular drive against traffic offender, the DMP toke the actions.
