Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 633 cases and realized Taka 2.32 million (23.24 lakh) as fine in a single day across the capital for violating the city's traffic rules.
The cases were filed and the fines imposed on September 27 during the ongoing drive against traffic rule violation, BSS reports citing a DMP statement issued on Saturday.
During the drive, a total of 161 vehicles were impounded and 33 others were towed for violation of the traffic rules.
The DMP release further said these drives will continue to bring discipline on Dhaka's streets.
