Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser Dr Anisuzzaman Chowdhury on Wednesday highlighted the multifaceted relations of Bangladesh and South Korea, and emphasised the continuity of the deep bilateral cooperation and the necessity of robust diplomatic engagement.
The Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) organised a programme as part of its country lecture series (CLS), titled, ‘Bangladesh-South Korea Relations: Pathways for Future Cooperation’ at its auditorium.
Bangladesh Ambassador to South Korea Park Young-sik delivered a speech as the distinguished guest speaker.
In his lecture, the Ambassador highlighted the Bangladesh-South Korea relations and their future trajectories.
Korea and Bangladesh share a strong economic partnership that extends beyond development assistance and is grounded in robust bilateral trade and foreign direct investment, he said.
The Ambassador emphasised the common values shared between the two nations, which are rooted in mutual trust and a commitment to global peace.
Ambassador AFM Gosal Azam Sarker, Chairman of BIISS, chaired the event, and Major General Iftekhar Anis, Director General of BIISS, delivered the welcome remarks.
Dr Mahfuz Kabir, Research Director, BIISS, made a presentation on ‘Dimensions of Bangladesh-South Korea Relations’.
Senior officials from different ministries, relevant government organisations, representatives from different think tanks, academicians, businessmen, serving and retired military officials, media and students from various universities participated in the country lecture and shared their opinions, comments, suggestions, and observations during the open discussion session.
