EU to start negotiations on Partnership Cooperation Agreement soon, says envoy

Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Bangladesh Charles Whiteley on Wednesday expressed his optimism to start negotiations on the Partnership Cooperation Agreement soon.

After a meeting with Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka on Wednesday, the envoy also expressed his hope that the agreement would be a new generation deal involving wide-ranging issues, reports UNB.

Regarding the meeting with the foreign minister, he said, “We had a very fruitful and dynamic discussion.”

Ambassador Whiteley said they discussed ways to take the Bangladesh-EU partnership forward.
