Ex-Additional SP Kafi arrested over killing of students, burning bodies on Aug 5

Former Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) of Dhaka district Md Abdullahil Kafi, who was accused of burning bodies after killing students and civilians in Ashulia, Dhaka, has been arrested.

He was detained by DB (Detective Branch) members from the airport on Monday.

Kafi is accused of being involved in the August 5th incident, where students and civilians were allegedly murdered and their bodies were burned in Dhaka’s Ashulia.

A DB official stated that since Kafi is a police officer, certain legal procedures must be followed before taking any action against him. They will investigate his level of involvement in the August 5th incident in Ashulia. Based on the findings, senior officials will decide on the necessary course of action.
