The Financial Express (FE), a pioneer in business journalism in Bangladesh, celebrated the 31st anniversary of its publication on Sunday.
The celebration ceremony was hosted in the conference room of the popular daily in the capital's Purana Paltan area.
FE editor Shamsul Huq Zahid, flanked by a host of corporate clients, journalists and staff members, kicked off the event by cutting a king-size cake to mark the milestone.
Senior executives from leading banks, financial institutions, insurance companies, business houses and firms like Janata Bank, Agrani Bank, Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Islami Bank, AB Bank, Social Islami Bank, Premier Bank, Mercantile Bank, Community Bank, Citizens Bank, Chartered Life Insurance, Annex Communication, bKash, Bangladesh Jonosongjog Samity, Forethought PR, Concito PR and Masthead PR.
To commemorate its birthday, the FE published the first instalment of a three-part special supplement featuring insightful analyses, commentaries and articles on local and global socio-economic, political and contemporary issues.
As it entered into the 32nd year of publication on November 10, the FE has reaffirmed its dedication to fair and objective journalism.
The FE is the country's first financial daily in English language under the ownership of the International Publications Limited (IPL).
The newspaper started its official journey back in 1993.
It has syndication arrangements with the London-based Financial Times (FT) and the Prague-based Project Syndicate for wider coverage of global financial news reports and analyses.
