Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali has described the university teachers’ movement against inclusion in the Prattay Scheme of the universal pension system as illogical.
The minister came up with the statement while talking to the reporters after a meeting with Asian Development Bank (ADB) Vice President Yingming Yang at his office in the planning ministry on Tuesday, local news portals said.
Teachers, officers and other employees in public universities across the country started protests on Monday demanding their exclusion from the Prattay Scheme of the universal pension system.
In reply to a question on possibilities of discussion with the protesting teachers, Ali said, "Wait and see what happens,"
However, the minister declined to make further comments regarding the matter.
