Fire breaks out at New Supermarket in Dhaka

A massive fire broke out at New Supermarket near the popular Newmarket in Dhaka around 5:45 am Saturday.

As many as 28 units of the fire service are battling the fire, reports bdnews24.com.

12 platoons of the Border Guard Bangladesh, a paramilitary force, also joined the fire service to help bring the fire under control.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known and no casualties were reported, Shahjahan Sikder, assistant deputy director of the fire service, said on Saturday.
