As ever, five Eid-ul-Azha congregations are set to be held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque this year.

The congregational prayers will be held at 7:00 am, 8:00 am, 9:00 am, 10:00 am, and 10:45 am, the Islamic Foundation announced in a statement on Tuesday.

Khalilur Rahman Madani, principal of Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasah, will lead the first prayer service, with Maulana Abu Saleh Patoari, a Mufassir (Quran commentator) from the Islamic Foundation, conducting the second congregation.

The third congregation will be helmed by Mustak Ahmad, deputy director of the Islamic Foundation's Translation Department, and the fourth by Mufti Mohammad Abdullah from the foundation's Research Division.

The fifth and final congregational prayer will be led by Maulana Mohammad Nur Uddin, a language instructor from the foundation’s Religious Message & Cultural Department.

This year, Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in Bangladesh on Jun 7, reports bdnews24.com.

It is one of the most significant religious festivals for Muslims, marked by ritual animal sacrifice.

Since the new moon of Zilhajj was sighted in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, Eid-ul-Azha will be observed there on Jun 6, with Hajj taking place on Jun 5.

Eid in Bangladesh is typically celebrated a day after it is observed in Saudi Arabia.
