The authorities have resumed flight operations at the Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram after a 17-hour closure due to severe Cyclone Remal.

The operational activities, including aircraft take-off and landing, began at 5 am on Monday, according to CNS Engineer Ibrahim Khalil, also the public relations officer of the airport.

On Sunday, the authorities halted flight operations from 12 pm to 8 pm due to the effects of the cyclonic storm. The suspension was later extended by nine hours to 5 am on Monday.

It rained heavily overnight until the morning, but the intensity of the rain subsided around 9:30 am. However, it is still drizzling in the port city.
