Detectives of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested former Awami League-backed lawmaker, Shahidul Islam Milon elected from the Jashore Sadar constituency, from the capital’s Gulistan area on Thursday.
Talibur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media) of the DMP, confirmed the matter saying that a Detective Branch team detained him from Phulbaria area of Gulistan on Thursday afternoon, according to a UNB report.
Milon, president of the Jashore district unit of Awami League, was taken to Gulshan police station after being arrested, he said.
He is accused in several cases over the attacks on the students-public during the recent upsurge, the police official said.
