A court has granted a three-day remand to interrogate MA Latif, former MP of Chattogram's Bandar-Patenga constituency, following his arrest.
According to Quader Patwari, the chief of Double Mooring Police Station, the former Awami League MP was arrested on Friday night in the Bayezid Bostami area of the city.
“After his arrest, he was taken to the court where a petition was made on Saturday to remand him for seven days. The court granted three days of remand after the hearing,” said OC Patwari.
A man called Ershad filed a case at the Double Mooring Police Station on Friday, accusing MA Latif and 15 others, over bullet injuries sustained during the student-citizen uprising.
According to the case dossier, 100 to 150 unidentified individuals were also accused in the case.
