Former public administration minister Farhad put on five-day remand

A Dhaka court has granted a five-day remand to interrogate former minister of public administration Farhad Hossain in a murder case filed at Dhaka’s Adabor Police Station.
Dhaka’s Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sanaullah granted the remand when police produced him before the court with a plea for a seven-day remand on Sunday.
The Rapid Action Battalion arrested Farhad from Dhaka’s Eskaton on Saturday night. Later, he was arrested and taken to the Detective Branch office.
Garments worker Rubel was killed on Aug 5 in Adabor. His father Rafiqul Islam filed a case over the incident on the night of Aug 22, OC Mahfuz said. Farhad was named as a suspect in the case and has been shown arrested in the case.
