GMP ADC suspended for leaking info on ex-DMP chief Asaduzzaman Mia

An additional deputy commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) has been suspended in connection with the leak of personal information of former Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia.

The home ministry issued a notification in this regard on Sunday.

According to the notification, Jisanul Haque has been temporarily suspended under the Government Employees (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018, following preliminary evidence found against him. During the suspension, he will receive subsistence allowance as per Bangladesh Service Rules.

The suspension follows a recent post on Facebook about Mr Asaduzzaman , which included his Electronic Subscriber Application Form (ESAF). This form, typically filled out by mobile phone subscribers, contains detailed information such as the subscriber's name, address, national ID number, and fingerprints.
