Gopalganj municipality announces Tk 1.33b budget

The annual budget of Gopalganj municipality for 2017-2018 fiscal year was announced on Wednesday.

Mayor Kazi Liakat Ali announced the budget at Gopalganj Swimming Pool and Gymnasium auditorium, reports UNB.

The budget envisages an earning of Tk 1.33 billion. Of the total amount, Tk 1.21 billion has been fixed as development income while Tk 124 million has been fixed as revenue income.

The estimate for the total expenditure in the budget is Tk 1.33 billion. Of these, development expenditure has been estimated at Tk 1.21 billion while the revenue expenditure has been targeted at Tk 124 million. The budget has shown surplus of Tk 88,000.

Vice-chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, Khandaker Nasir Uddin, deputy commissioner Mokhlesur Rahman, superintendent of police Saidur Rahman, councillors of the municipality, local elites, journalists, among others, were present on the occasion.
