Government employees have been asked to submit their wealth statements by November 30, a senior official has said.
The deadline will shift to December next year, said senior Secretary Md Mokhlesur Rahman, speaking at a press conference at the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday.
Employees must submit their wealth statements using a specific form and in a sealed manner to their respective ministries or departments, he said.
Failure to meet the deadline or submit false information could lead to disciplinary action, Mr Rahman warned.
On Sept 1, the government directed all employees to submit their wealth statements.
The directive followed Chief Adviser Professor Yunus' Aug 25 address to the nation, where he called for regular asset declarations by government employees.
Yunus also said government advisers would soon publish their asset details, and regular asset disclosures would become mandatory for all public servants.
