HC stays case proceedings against Dr Yunus at Rangpur Labour Court

The High Court has stayed the proceedings of the case filed against Nobel Laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus and five others at the Rangpur Labor Court, alleging violation of labour laws.

The High Court bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice Md Atabullah Atabullah delivered the order on Tuesday.

The court also issued a rule regarding the validity of the case.

Barrister Abdullah Al Mamun appeared in court for Dr Yunus. Barrister Khawaja Tanveer Ahmed was with him. Deputy Attorney General Tushar Kanti Roy and Assistant Attorney General Anich ul Mawa represented the state.

Earlier, a writ was filed seeking a stay on proceedings of the case filed against the founding chairman of Grameen Krishi Foundation Dr Yunus and five others at Rangpur Labor Court, alleging violation of labour laws.
