At least five people have been killed and 20 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Faridpur, according to bdnews24.com.
The accident occurred in Faridpur’s Mallikpur area around 4am on Tuesday, according to Assistant Superintendent Maruf Hossain of Faridpur Highway Police.
Among those injured, at least six are in critical condition and are currently undergoing treatment at Faridpur's Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital.
The collision involved a Jhenaidah-bound Green Express bus and a Khagrachhari Paribahan bus coming from Satkhira’s Shyamnagar, according to police reports.
“All of the dead were passengers on the Khagrachhari Paribahan bus. The dead and the injured passengers have yet to be identified," said Maruf.
