Home Affairs Adviser Brigadier (retd) AKM Sakhawat Hossain has said the police members will have to join duties in their work stations within Thursday.

"Otherwise, the absent members will be declared absconders," he told the journalists at the secretariat on Sunday.

Police members and officers have remained off-duty since August 5, the day then Awami League President Sheikh Hasina resigned as the prime minister and fled to India amid fierce anti-government movement spearheaded by quota protesters.

They started fleeing their job stations since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government as protesters launched attacks on police establishments to retaliate against police brutality during the movement.
