Md Iqbal Hussain Khan, a career diplomat, has been named the new High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan.
He is going to replace Ambassador Md Ruhul Alam Siddique in this capacity, according to a media statement.
Iqbal Hussain Khan, a Foreign Affairs cadre of the 20th BCS batch, joined Bangladesh foreign service in 2001. Currently he is serving as director general at the Foreign Service Academy, Dhaka. Prior to that, he was serving at the ministry as director general heading the West Asia Wing.
In his diplomatic career, he has served in different capacities in Bangladesh missions in Jeddah, London, Moscow and Abu Dhabi. He was the Bangladesh consul general in Dubai.
Iqbal Hussain Khan holds a master’s degree in International Relations from the People’s Friendship University of Russia (PFUR) and an Honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the then Bangladesh Institute of Technology (now Khulna University of Engineering and Technology) in Khulna.
Recently, he has completed the NDC course from Bangladesh National Defence College, Mirpur, Dhaka.
