Taposhee Tabassum Urmi, Assistant Commissioner (Executive Magistrate) of Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner's Office, has been suspended following a controversial social media post targeting Dr Muhammad Yunus, the chief adviser to the interim government.
Prior to her dismissal, she was designated as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
Confirming the matter, Public Administration Ministry's public relations officer, Mansur Hossain said that Urmi has been suspended and that disciplinary action against her has been initiated.
The notification regarding her OSD status was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday (October 6).
In her Facebook post, Urmi had criticised Dr Yunus, stating, "The chief advisor of the unconstitutional interim government has said, 'The reset button has been pushed. The past is erased.' By clicking the reset button, he has erased all of the country's past history. It's that simple! The countdown has begun for you, sir."
She has also made several posts expressing support for the ousted government amid student-led protests.
