At least two people were killed in a landslide at Rohingya camp in Ukhiya of Cox’s Bazar district on Wednesday.
One of the deceased was identified as Anwar Islam, son of Mohammad of the Balukhali Rohingya camp in Ukhiya.
Shamsud Douza Nayan, additional commissioner of the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Office, said the incident occurred in the area around 3:00 am.
Shamim Hossain, officer-in-charge of Ukhiya Police Station, said a chunk of mud from a hill collapsed on the Balukhali-8 camp, leaving a child dead on the spot.
