A madrasa student was killed and three others injured in a road accident in the capital's Khilkhet area on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Sakib, 14, son of Sharif Mia of Hasempur village of Raipur in Narsingdi.
The injured were Riyaz, 30, son of Hazrat Ali; Imran Hossain Babu, 24, a driver, son of Abdul Hamid and Dipu, 24, son of Liton. All of them are from Narsingdi.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of DMCH police outpost Mohammad Faruq said the accident occurred around 5:00 am on the 300-feet road near the foot overbridge when a pickup truck carrying poultry chicken lost control and ploughed through several pedestrians, leaving them severely injured.
The injured were rescued and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared one of the victims dead.
Three others were receiving treatment for their injuries.
The body of the deceased was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy, said the OC.
