

A team of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) detained a man with nine gold bars worth about Tk 11.2 million at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday.
The arrested was identified as Md Parvez, a resident of Chattogram district, according to CIID Assistant Director Farhana Begum.
Parvez landed at the airport at 11:46 am on a flight of US Bangla (BS-342) from Dubai, according to a BSS report.
Parvez’s movement was specious when he was passing the green channel; the CIID team searched him and recovered nine gold bars from his possession weighing 1.238 kgs.
After completing the legal process, a case was filed with the Airport Police Station against him and later, he was handed over to the police station, Farhana said.
