Md Ashfaqul Islam appointed as acting Chief Justice

Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam, an Appellate Division judge of the Supreme Court, has been appointed as the acting Chief Justice following the resignation of Justice Obaidul Hassan on Saturday.

Public Relations Officer of the Supreme Court Md Shafiqul Islam confirmed the matter to the media today.

Meanwhile, five other justices in the Appellate Division including Justice M Enayetur Rahim, Justice Abu Zafor Siddique, Justice Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, Justice Md Shahinur Islam, and Justice Kashefa Hussain have also decided to step down.
