The city's first metro rail, which is now partially operational from Uttara to Agargaon, will adopt new timings from 8 am to 8 pm, effective from today (Wednesday), to accommodate passengers during both peak and off-peak hours.
Under the new schedule, trains on Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Line-6 will run at 10-minute intervals during peak hours, starting from 8 am to 11 am and from 3:01 pm to 6 pm.
During off-peak hours, trains will run at 15-minute intervals from 11:01 am to 3 pm and from 6:01 pm to 8 pm.
Additionally, the MRT-6 will now observe Friday as the weekly off instead of the current Tuesday.
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has made all necessary arrangements to operate MRT Line-6 under the new schedule using its existing manpower, according to sources.
