The Ministry of Home Affairs has banned the movement of motorcycles across the country from January 5 midnight (12:00 am) to January 8 midnight (12:00 am) during the 12th national election.
The ministry issued a notification in this regard on Thursday, according to local reports.
Moreover, it has also imposed a ban on the movement of other vehicles including cabs, microbuses, SUVs, pickups, cars, buses, trucks and other motorised vehicles from January 6 midnight (12:00 am) to January 7 midnight (12:00 am).
However, candidates, law enforcement agencies, election observers and polling agents cannot use these vehicles.
The vehicles of the election observers and polling agents with the EC’s stickers, and vehicles of emergency services, including ambulance, fire service and postal department, will remain out of the ban’s purview.
