Freed from the hands of Somali pirates, the Bangladeshi-flagged ship MV Abdullah with its 23 crew members on board, finally entered Bangladesh's waters on Saturday.
Shahriar Jahan Rahat, deputy managing director of KSRM Group, said the ship reached Kutubdia on Monday afternoon, according to a local media report.
The ship will unload some limestone there and reach the Chittagong port's outer anchorage on Wednesday (May 15). After unloading the remaining goods there, MV Abdullah will come to the jetty, Rahat said.
Earlier on March 12, MV Abdullah was hijacked by Somali pirates along with 23 sailors. Holding them hostage for 32 days, the pirates released the ship on April 14 after getting ransom. The ship then unloaded goods at the Al Hamriya port in the United Arab Emirates and loaded new cargo at another port.
