Members of the army and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) were deployed in front of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) headquarters in the capital’s Agargaon area on Thursday morning amid escalating tensions over ongoing protests by NBR officials.
Meanwhile, an unofficial blockade on entry and exit at the NBR was imposed, and no one was allowed to enter or leave the premises.
The gate was reopened around 5:30 pm.
Following the reopening, NBR officials left the premises under the guard of army and police personnel.
