Anjana Khan Majlis has joined as the new deputy commissioner (DC) in Netrokona. She is the first female DC in the district.
She worked as the deputy commissioner of Chandpur before joining as the DC of Netrokona on Wednesday.
Anjana Khan is a Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS-administration) cadre officer of the 22nd batch. She graduated and post-graduated from the Department of English Literature in Dhaka University.
On May 19, departed Deputy Commissioner of Netrokona Kazi Md Abdur Rahman has been posted as deputy secretary in the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Department.
In another circular, signed by KML-Amin (Deputy Secretary) by order of the President from the Ministry of Public Administration, Anjana Khan was transferred to Netrokona.
Since the notification was issued, people from different walks of life in Netrokona have been seen congratulating her on social media. They praised her as the first female DC in the district.
Conscious people of the district say that her career as a woman deputy commissioner will be a milestone in the history of Netrokona while keeping the reputation of the previous workplace intact.
