No decision has been taken yet on when the train services will resume, Director General of Bangladesh Railway Sardar Shahadat Ali said on Sunday.
He said that they will inform the media when the decision is made to resume the train service, according to a news portal.
Due to the ongoing curfew, trains are not running. If the train runs amid the curfew, the issue could spark controversy, sources said.
Besides, the safety of railways and its passengers is more important. As a result, if the curfew is not lifted, the possibility of train movement is very low, said the sources.
Earlier, Bangladesh Railway decided to run short-distance passenger trains while the curfew was relaxed from Thursday, but considering the people’s safety, the decision was changed and the train movement remained suspended.
