No government instructions given to block internet: Palak

State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak has said the government has not ordered the shutdown of internet services in any part of the country.

"Internet services have been disrupted in some areas, but this is not due to any instructions from the government", he said on Sunday noon.

Confirming the disruption of internet services to Jagonews24.com, the minister claimed that miscreants are attacking many installations involved in the operation of fiber optic cables and the internet.

"Fiber optic cables are being cut. Even today, many facilities have been set on fire. It is not possible to provide uninterrupted internet service when such vandalism is taking place", Palak said.
