Police arrest self-proclaimed Biden's advisor Arefy from airport

Police finally arrested Mian Zahidul Islam Arefy, self-proclaimed advisor of US President Joe Biden, from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka city this afternoon (Oct 29).

Joint Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Biplob Kumar Sarkar confirmed the arrest of Arefy, who identified himself as an adviser to the US President.

"Immigration Police have arrested him when he went to the airport leave the country," said Sarkar.

Arefy was present along with BNP leaders at a press briefing held at BNP's Naya Paltan central office and instigated violence in the country.

According to a Detective Branch (DB) officer, the fake advisor Arefy was taken to the DB office for interrogation.
