Police vehicle carrying Ivy attacked

A police van carrying former Narayanganj City Corporation mayor Selina Hayat Ivy was attacked as it was taking her away.

The incident occurred on Bangabandhu Road in front of the Grindlay’s Bank around 6:30 am on Friday, according to bdnews24.com.

The brickbats injured several people, including police personnel. Sadar Model Police Station chief Nasiruddin Ahmed took one police personnel with critical injuries to the Naranganj 300 Bed Hospital. He said that two police personnel had been injured in the incident.

Two improvised explosives were also detonated. The police vehicle then left the area swiftly, taking Ivy to the Narayanganj District Superintendent of Police’s Office. The attackers then held scattered marches while chanting slogans denouncing Ivy and the Awami League.
