Raushan Ershad has declared herself the chief of the Jatiya Party, 'terminating' the positions of Chairman GM Quader and General Secretary Mojibul Haque Chunnu, reports bdnews24.com.
She announced the decision at a meeting with agitated party leaders and activists on Sunday.
“I’ve heard your complaints. Under the circumstances, I am terminating party Chairman GM Quader and General Secretary Mojibul Haque Chunnu using the power bestowed upon me, and taking up the post of chairman myself for the good of the party and to restore its image. I am appointing Mamunur Rashid as the general secretary until we hold the next council,” she said.
The Jatiya Party leaders and activists in attendance applauded the announcement.
