Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus is meeting with government secretaries for the first time since he took charge of the interim government.
The meeting began at the Chief Advisor’s Office (formerly the Prime Minister’s Office) at 11:00 am on Wednesday, the Cabinet Division said.
“The meeting with the secretaries began on time at the Chief Advisor’s Office at 11:00 am,” said Chowdhury Muazzam Ahmed, deputy secretary of the Cabinet Division.
“There is no specific agenda for the meeting. The chief advisor will ask about the overall situation,” he said.
The interim government was sworn in on Aug 8, after the fall of the Awami League government on Aug 5, reports bdnews24.com.
The meeting follows a reshuffle in the secretary positions across nearly two dozen departments since the new government assumed power.
Several officials appointed on a contractual basis during the previous government have been removed.
Five additional secretaries who were forced to retire during the Awami League administration have been reinstated to senior secretary positions.
