Students and job seekers demanding a reduction of government job quotas to five per cent blocked Dhaka’s Shahbagh for around eight hours on Wednesday.
The protesters withdrew their blockade at 7:30 pm.
During the withdrawal, they announced that they would resume their nationwide 'Bangla Blockade' at 3:30 pm on Thursday.
Under the banner of 'Anti-Discrimination Students Movement', the protesters started a procession from the Dhaka University central library premises before blocking Shahbagh at 11:15am.
